Yeah but I mean they have had vets role player like FVV, GTJ, Poeltl & Otto Porter. It doesn't look much but their main guy of Siakam/Barnes/OG was an interesting core with potential to build the roster around.

I’m not as mad at PG as others, but objectively speaking I think their signing him was similar to our Harden move and probably won’t yield a chip. They should be really good during the regular season but who’s their Alpha? Maxey probably has the best combination of smarts, heart and skill but they won’t defer to him as their Tony Parker.

I like Embiid well enough, but yeah I still don’t have a ton of faith in that team in the postseason

this division is brutal.
Their top 3 can also be top 3 in the east.
It’s similar to some years for us. (Pacific)
I always wonder why raptors are looking good on paper but they just couldn’t figure it out since a couple years ago.

Would be really sweet if that happens.

And, going back to the last thread, Rob was saying that the Clips fortunes will depend on whether the additions can hit the 3 ball with a decent clip. Can an NBA team have success without relying on the 3 ball? Can a great mid range game compete at a high level? I don’t really think so as the 3 has become a must have weapon across the board. Would I like to see a guy like Luke Kennard back on this team? Probably.

My biggest question about Philly in the regular season (aside from “will George and Embiid stay healhty?”) is ironically the same question I had about us last season – who is gonna man the PF spot for them? Caleb Martin is 6’5″ 205lbs, so he’d be pretty severely undersized there. Yabusele is a guy I really wanted to Clips to try to sign and he has the right measurables (6’8″, 275 lbs), but he flamed out in his first stint in the NBA, so it’s fair to wonder if he can reproduce what he did at the Olympics. KJ Martin is 6’6″. Outside of Embiid and Drummond, their roster has legit size questions.

In terms of the postseason, the biggest question about them is obviously whether or not George can recapture his 2021 postseason form (which, while good, is still a bit overblown considering his lofty reputation), and whether or not Embiid can perform when he isn’t getting 20+ FTAs. Maxey is a stud and I assume he’ll show out when they need him.

Aside from pure basketball, I already really, really, really disliked Embiid, and I’ll be booing the shit out of George if I can make it to Intuit for his return game. I hope the Sixers severely underachieve. I hope they lose in the 1st round to Orlando or something.
