I wonder if in the playoffs though if you’d be better off with Terance and his not as good of defense as Dunn/DJ, but a guy with more offense and shooting ability. Specialists are so tough to play in the postseason.

The trade for Bogi was good because we also got 3 2nd round picks in the deal. Ask the Hawks how they feel about Mann.

Just because you’re upset with how the season turned out doesn’t mean you should romanticize T-Manns actual impact on court.

As much as I like Bogi’s great games with us, Bogi’s overall performance, esp. his disappearance in the Playoffs, was not worth trading away fan favorite T. Mann.

Although, T. Mann’s reluctance to be aggressive — this is not Bogi’s problem. So, during the next 2 seasons, this trade might work out in the Clippers favor.

Divorce (between Head Coach and Gen. Manager/President) is sometimes necessary for family/team harmony.

Mr. Ballmer needs to do a Q&A review of every decision that LF and Coach Lue have done since purchasing the Clippers. Pretty sure that performance review of your staff is part of running a company like Microsoft.

Jerami Grant is a BAD contract but just so happens to fill one of our needs. $102 million over the next three years and Portland is going to be looking to dump that for sure. This is probably a reach, but perhaps we could send DJJ and Norm there in return for Grant and arrange a pick swap of our #30 and our 2nd for their #11. DJJ is younger and would bring some much needed athleticism and Norm could fill the void left by Simons who’s almost assuredly being moved. They could probably move Norm at the deadline and get something else good back for him too. At 31 Grant isn’t what he once was but is serviceable and better than our other options at PF. His contract would last one year longer than Kawhi’s but if we could land a young star right now it would be worth it.

I believe that may continue to hold true for first-time young max players, but I think we will start to see a trend where later-prime superstars will only re-up with the LeBron type 1-1 deal so they can keep all their options open. Kawhi has kind of done this with us and James is now in position to benefit from that type of deal too. I’m sure the FO has given this a lot of consideration and it will inform what decisions they make here in the near future. 2031 is a LONG ways off and we could only start tanking in 2030. That’s five years of mediocrity or worse to endure, and even then there’s only a 14% chance of landing the #1 pick and even far less of a chance that player is a generational talent.

They should’ve left Watson or Strawther in there for MPJ – at least they would’ve played defense.

  • Russell Westbrook was truly awful and cost them a lot of momentum. Denver was up +8 when they probably should’ve been up +18 but for Russ’ multiple acts of self harm.
  • MPJ was a complete no show. He shot well against us, however.
  • Lu Dort – the ultimate insult is to lose in part due to a 3 minute Q4 magnet ball segment from him. Dude has been a** the whole series and has often played off the court for long stretches.

This was a lot like watching a Clipper game. Very encouraging performance for most of the game thwarted by a long scoring drought.

I’m rooting for Denver and expect they’ll win Game 6. The challenge for Game 7 is that they’re just not getting enough offense out of Braun, Russ, MPJ to win on the road. Hope that changes, but right now, I’d have to say this series leans OKC in 7 games.

The rest Denver’s role players really dropped the ball tonight too, especially MPJ, who Adelman should’ve benched. Denver should’ve won this one but choked in the 4th.

This is why I floated my “lottery teams tourney” and would be fine w/ a reverse order draft – striving to win but ultimately being middle of the pack shouldn’t be a bad thing, but it is under the current system. If finishing just outside the playoffs were rewarded (…without rigging the draft like they did this year for the Mavs) maybe you’d get more teams actually trying to compete.
