Talk on social media is that PG will opt in for the final year of his contract but will look to do a sign and trade to somewhere he wants to go. I’m somewhat doubtful of that. I think he’s more likely to accept the offer the Clippers have had on the table for a 3 year deal extension. There’s no guarantee that he’ll get a quality deal a year from now that will be better than what the Clips will offer. He can bet on himself and take the 49M now and then go for a 3 year deal at say 35M, but I don’t know that he’s going to get a 40M+ deal/yr from anyone but the Clippers. The other thing is that LAC has been good to him and has indulged all of his quirks. I can’t imagine a Thibs or Carlisle putting up with his act.

Having said that, PG is the most skilled potential free agent on the market today and a team that has a solid core and a shot at a chip is going to make an offer for him: NYK, Miami, Indiana, Dallas will be making calls. GSW is reportedly interested.

If we can move him and PJ Tucker for a true #4, some draft capital and another role player wing, I think it would work out well for the team. A trade to NYK or Indiana would make the most sense.

I also don’t mind keeping PG as I think we’ll have a good product on the floor that can win 50 games in the opening year of the Intuit Dome.
