Definitely loved Zu this year, and also hoped Lue would use him right :-). Hard to quibble, but if he can improve his passing and reduce turnovers, that’d put him closer to the unstoppable category :-). hoping his future with lue is bright :-).

Zu should be playing 32 minutes a game. The Clippers should be feeding him more than they have. By doing so, it will open up everyone else’s game.

Zu’s lack of usage goes back to Lue mismanaging him.

Zu is a good player, I hope they resign him to another $12m/yr type deal.

Also hope we can trade Norm and the Indy 2nd round pick (46th) for Isaac. Also trade expiring contract PJ for Grant Williams (Hornets would save 2 years and $26 million of long term cash). Either Russ or CP3 as the backup PG. Resign Mason and Theis as the backup centers.

SG – PG/Mann
PG – Harden/Russ/Bones
C – Zubac/Plumlee/Theis
PF – Isaac/Williams/Brown
SF – Kawhi/Coffey

Can try to find some other young guys in training camp. One thing we have to begrudgingly give the Lakers is they do find guys from nowhere (Reeves, Caruso) or in the 2nd round.

I remember when we first landed Zu thinking what a steal it was. Not that I thought he was Tim Duncan but I had been watching him with the Lakers and he ran the floor well, was crafty with putbacks around the rim and just played hard—kind of like rookie Derrick Lively we’re seeing right now. Raw but serious potential. His production remained mostly good although he was played off the court in a couple playoff series. And when he’d nail a grenade in the post it was pretty thrilling. What I didn’t realize was that he had real offensive skill to go along with the rim-running/-protection until Harden began looking for him as a legitimate option. The fact that this kid was being this underused is yet another reason for my ire toward Ty. I’m not saying he’s Joker but he is a legitimate weapon and one of the few remaining reasons to keep following the team next season—provided his usage on offense continues to rise. Great job Zu. You proved to a lot of people you are legit.

Yep, there were times when Zu was hitting almost all of his hook shots. He was very effective this season and therefore dangerous.

He doesn’t need to score 20 PPG. But if he gets 10-15 with all of the other offensive weapons on the team, then we’re rolling (as Robert pointed out during the Dec-Jan timeframe).

So this needs to continue to be a part of the game plan.

It was disappointing when they stopped utilizing the P&R later in the season. They needed that to keep from being too predictable.
