Same reason why when talking about Cornell alum Matt Morgan, they talked about how good Cornell was last year… even though he graduated in 2019.

I think so — seems to be getting better and better–check out this piece

Preston will not be re-upped. He just doesn’t want it bad enough. He’s non-aggressive. It’s a shame. I’ve been rooting for him to make a breakthrough and the Clips more or less gave him an ultimatum. He didn’t seize the day.

I like Kobe Brown. He’s going to be a good player.

I like Moussa. He moves well. Rebounds. Plays defense. Why are the commentators stating his age as 26?

The jury is out on Jordan Miller. Need to see more. He’s definitely going to the G-League.

We don’t need a 3rd point.

2 games in and players showing their flashes of potential.
I still have hope for Preston & Moose. They may become skilled specialists with niche role on the team.
Brown & Miller looks to be more well-round prospects with size/strength/length and versatile skill set.
Still more games to play, let’s see how it goes.
Ps: I really like Brown’s size & power along with his BBIQ. He can be release valve option when shot clock is winding down.

Upping Bones’ minutes and giving Terance the extra point guard minutes is better than going to a third string PG, since that means upticks for Brandon and Amir at SG/SF, and getting those guys minutes is preferable to any 3rd PG options.

But by the time we’re talking about guys 15-18 on an 18-man roster, we’re talking several layers deep of injury insurance.

So if our full strength squad is

Russ/Terance/Paul/Kawhi/Zu
Bones/Norm/KJ/Nico/Plumlee

Then our first three guys to slot in as injury depth are Boston (6’7″ 2/3), Coffey (6’7″ 2/3), and Covington (6’7″ 3/4). We’ve also got Brown (6’7 4), Miller (6’5″ 2/3), and Moussa taking the roster total to 16. And technically Morris is still under contract, though I can’t imagine he’ll be back next year. So when it comes time to figuring out the best balance for the final man on the 18th crew, feels to me like it makes more sense to add a fast little guard who gives you something different instead of a 4th big or 12th wing/forward.

There’s no point in a 3rd-string PG on the Clippers this year. If Russ is hurt, play Bones 48 minutes, or give Mann some PG minutes.

Boston and Brown are both on the 15-man roster

I’d take Moon over Preston as the emergency point guard on the real roster if we make some big consolidation trade. I’m not sure about Moon vs Morgan… we know Moon’s floor is safer but Morgan is 2.5 years younger (while still not being young) and might not have the same limited ceiling at the NBA level that we’ve already seen seem pretty firm for Moon.

If we’re good on depth and need a two-way I don’t even know. Probably no on both Preston and Moon, and take a gamble on a different project instead. Maybe that’s Morgan, although I’m not sure if a two-way is enough to get him to leave the French MVP race.

Moon should go make his money in another league.

Moussa
Boston
Brown

Miller is what he is. He can get better at shooting, but that’s about it. I’d pick Miller over Brown if he wasn’t so slow.

Pressure indeed.

It isn’t any surprise Moon played really well tonight and on Sunday, but are we going to use our 2-way spot on him? In a worst case scenario where we lose our point guards, we have to call up Preston or Moon to play the point, who would you want?

2-way positions are to develop potential into actual NBA players. Who would you pick?

Another comment, it is fascinating in how different we can view the same game and all have different views as to how well or poorly a player performed.

For the half full take I would say that KB does display that well-rounded swiss army knife ability to cover for others mistakes. He seems to reel in the awkward rebounds and pass out of trouble well. Rescued numerous blown possessions this way. He made one play in transition defense where he got the player to alter his shot with his left hand and recover mid air to block it anyway with his right. Those little things give me a glimmer of hope for him. Otherwise yes, his shot and FTs have been alarmingly poor.

I don’t know how Moussa can look so special and smart on defense yet totally lost on offense. This is rhetorical of course because there have been a lot of players like this over the years. I’m just pretty disappointed that he hasn’t displayed any utility on the offensive end whether it’s merely setting screens and rolling or finishing at the rim. I never expected he would be able to shoot. Sigh.

Here’s hoping KB can bounce back and have a couple of decent shooting games.
