I had the Lakers CEILING as the 6th seed before the trade and floor as like the 12th seed. Maybe I’d change that to the 5th seed and floor as like the 10th seed after. I mean putting them over like Phoenix, GS, Memphis, Dallas, Denver, or the Clippers would be kind of crazy, but I’m not counting Lebron out, and really think PatBev is going to help them.

Laker fans are pissed that lakers let caris walk while paying THT because he was going to be a star, only to not trade THT for Kyle Lowry , then end up trading the untouchable THT for Bev an older more injured version of Caruso . Lakers plunged THT’s stock , should of traded him for lowry or someone else while his stock was higher after those preseason games when he killed it

Definitely I’m not high on THT either. Feels like a typical guy that can have flashes of great offensive skill, but just not efficient enough to be like a go to scorer in the NBA. Maybe if he was put into a featured role on a bad team, he could look pretty good, but he has yet to earn that kind of role.

I think Brandon Boston finds himself in a similar role, where he has flashes of offensive brilliance, but still needs to put together the efficient game to earn rotation minutes in the NBA. Unfortunately for these guys, as a 2nd round picks, no one is handing them the keys to the car.

I kind of understood the upside after THT’s rookie year, but 2 years later with what feels like limited improvement, and suddenly the “upside” argument starts fading. I get he’s still “only” 21, going on 22, but starting to get worrying if you’re not seeing that incremental improvement after year 3.

They’re paying him pretty much the same as Terance Mann’s extension that won’t even kick in until next year, and Mann has been way more proven in the NBA. The idea of having a young guy with upside is great, IF you’re paying them on a rookie salary scale. If you’re paying them a salary based on the player you HOPE they become, suddenly that contract just looks bad.

I’m surprised the Jazz took on that salary for PatBev. I would’ve thought PatBev would’ve had more value than taking on what is a questionable at best talent on a big contract. Funny Laker fans that don’t like the trade think THT was like their one young asset, and should’ve brought back more. I guess if both sides think they should be getting more, that makes it a fair trade.

I agree completely !
I understand seeiNg bev in a laker jersey, but it would hurt more if our team wasn’t so much better and deeper right now! Lakers are in a situation that no matter what they do

This trade makes lakers look like idiots for not just paying Caruso
And paying THT instead! If lakers thought THT was sooo good they would not have made this trade. THT prolly not a big part of lakers rotation so they make the trade. Pat does boost lockeroom
Energy defense and can shoot the three if he’s healthy. Problem is Russ who is not easily gonna be traded, is a lockeroom distraction, and HAS to be livid lakers just traded for Bev . By trading for Bev lakers are saying fuck you to Russ for the tenth time lol
My point I still think each player is better suited better for each team. Which makes sense.

I personally am not high on THT
The guy had an amazing preseason that one year, tgink he had 1 40 point game last year. Truth is he was a 46th pick in the draft / almost undrafted. He earned a contract he’s a useful nba player at the moment and is young . He’s more useful to be a flyer on rebuilding team/jazz then lakers
Lakers are desperate and Bev is a hedge to Russ imo
They shit on Russ all last season
This whole offseason and now with trading for Bev . Lol
They possibly could just sit Russ like rockets did wall !
