I guess the majority of that comes from shooting 34% from 3 in Houston to 42% from 3 for the Clippers. At that rate, he really was replacing what Luke Kennard brought with more juice getting to the basket, “probably” better defense (especially defending bigger guys), and I think was a better playmaker.

I think his consistency is a problem, but that goes for pretty much all the role players on this team.

My hope is that they can find someone that values his non-guaranteed deal, and give the Clips an upgrade. I wouldn’t even mind seeing EJ back with this team next year, or even long term. I mean obviously I’m not paying his salary and subsequent taxes, so I would want the Clips spending as much as they possibly can, even keeping EJ’s deal as an expiring deal at the deadline. But factoring in the potential tax, I would really be surprised if he’s still with the Clippers next year.

Would you trade him for like Ben Simmons, Hayward, Bertans, Porzingis, Terry Rozier? At least those guys would fill maybe more a position of need more than EJ, but not sure any of them are real difference makers. I’ve always liked Hayward, but he’s fallen off and a huge injury risk. Simmons is the biggest gamble, but also highest upside. I think I would consider either of them just for the potential upside, and maybe filling that starting PF position.

Also for context, I throw out a lot of F bombs w/ gusto when I’m happy too, so swearing is definitely not reserved for special occasions.

The tone I get from you is utter disgust that boils over to where you throw out the F word with a lot of gusto. On the flip side, maybe this is therapy.

Whenever I use “hate” here I’m using it in the casual, day-to-day kinda “hate.” Like I “hate when it rains and I have plans to go out” – not “I hate these people to the point where I’m actively wishing for harm to come to them.” So yea, more like “dislike” I guess.

But luck runs out — it always does and it will for them — one way or the other.

Lucky that clippers are injured (we own them currently) lucky Giannis got hurt early in round 1, lucky ainge had a stroke and gifted them a bunch of good role players, lucky their two superstars (one of whom is more brittle than either of ours) has stayed healthy for this run.

It’s all luck. They’re not well run and they’re not a particularly good team they just happen to be healthy. And how the warriors beat the kings I have zero clue. The warriors are total dog shit now which is fine by me, I just wish it wasn’t to the lakers benefit. I can’t think of a team or franchise I despise more than the lakers.

We choked away the bubble to the Nuggets so I hate them the least (it’s more self-loathing). The Warriors have Draymond, Steve Kerr acts all sanctimonious against other teams but never takes a stand when the issue is about his own, and Steph is obviously amazing but the prancing and preening and occasional hystrionics are annoying. The Suns and Lakers hate should be pretty self-explanatory.
