Reggie is definitely better than Moon, but again falls into the category of no upside, singular position, injury insurance, which again might have him trouble finding a landing spot in the league. I would take Reggie back just for the vibes, and I guess some limited hope he blacks out and goes on a 2021-playoff run, but more likely just as injury insurance.

Jerome over MPJ, Keon over Grimes (or Bones), Preston over Thor or Ayo, etc.

In Quentin grimes (who I remember clippers worked out or atleast were high on) for Keon Johnson?
Even when the clippers get it right they get all cute and mess it up!

Mine is more “Kawhi is more seriously injured than they’re letting on and will be out until next ASB at least”.

There is absolutely nothing to be excited about w/ this franchise at this point. It’s sad.

Solid player with xlnt skills tho only 6′

EXCEPT against the Clippers. I’m not sure I’m underrating or overrating them, because I thought they were SO GOOD all season, at the same time, they lost a ton of games to beatable teams, and really have struggled in the playoffs of the past.

I certainly don’t think they’re like a KD led Warriors, where it felt helpless to even try and compete (and yet the Rockets did an admirable job trying to compete). I really feel like the right matchup can take down the Nuggets, but it certainly wasn’t any of the teams they faced this year in the playoffs.

That being said, this version of the Nuggets with a health Murray and with Aaron Gordon, which hasn’t been seen in the playoff before, is certainly the best version of that team yet. And it is scary they have a lot of room for improvement, especially with their depth. Crazy that they really are only playing 6 deep, with Green and Braun playing pretty limited minutes and maybe combining for like 4 shots a game. A real backup center (sorry DJ), and one or two more depth pieces, and maybe they do win closer to that 60-game mark. My only hope is someone offers Bruce Brown a BIG contract that the Nuggets can’t match because that guy is just so good. Either way, I think they should be the heavy favorites heading into next year.

I’m not sure I should take that completely back on not. Russ was way better than I expected, but I love Moon too.

I really think Moon is an NBA player, but yes, more of a mediocre backup/solid 3rd string player. Unfortunately for him, teams just don’t carry solid vet, single-position, 3rd string players.

If I had an injury to a point guard, and wanted a solid backup, Moon would be great, but most teams would rather have a 21 year old that they hope could turn into a starter someday, or maybe a guy that could help if you had a injury at PG or at SG. And certainly Moon wouldn’t fill up the box score like Westbrook when you have an injury to Kawhi and PG.

So yea, I don’t see him on an active roster next year, but I think there are plenty of teams in the NBA that would win more games with him playing over some of the guys they throw out there, and that must be frustrating for him.

Which is why I want to do a rebuild. PG13 and Kawhi aren’t gonna get us back all the assets shipped out for them, but after next season they’re gonna be even older, w/ probably more (hopefully minor) injuries, and assuming they opt-out they’re gonna need to be re-signed. Once they get re-signed to big contracts again (I doubt they’ll take significant discounts) we’ll be locked into the “old and expensive core” model (like Portland back when they still had CJ). I’d really, really like to avoid that…
