you are simply posting your feelings.

But that’s kind of our job description here, isn’t it?

The fate of this team rest on his health. We are play-in team without him and can be title contender when he is on the court.
Hope we can find the way to create something during regular season and be ready for the postseason.
I still hope we go younger this coming season. T-Mann, Zu and even Coffey should be the main guy in the rotation. They prove they can handle it if regularly given a chance.

It strikes me that you are simply posting your feelings.

Further, I would bet my life savings that Kawhi will play substantially more than “30 minutes a game” in next year’s playoffs, assuming that they make the playoffs and that he is on the court at all. Neither of these are guaranteed, of course. But your notion that “even in the playoffs he probably can’t ever go more than 30 minutes a game” strikes me as incredibly naive.

January through the end of the year shooting over 46% from 3. That would be 2nd in the league only behind Kennard over the season. In the Playoffs was 60% from 3-pt range. Outside of Steph, you just don’t see the high volume superstars put up that kind of efficiency numbers.

Definitely if they have a shot at winning a title in the next few years, it’s going to be on the back of Kawhi. PG is solid, but Kawhi is that top level star you need to compete at the highest level. If you trade Kawhi, you might as well rebuild from scratch.

This isn’t politics, Hollywood or even off court issues where one lets enough time pass and the problem just fades away. Moving forward his usage is absolutely going to have to be truncated and carefully allocated to where even in the playoffs he probably can’t ever go more than 30 minutes a game. The implications of this are that we will definitely need a 3rd star to carry the regular season and also much of the load in the playoffs. I don’t believe Kawhi is truly tradable anyway because he wouldn’t agree to going anywhere else so the only path forward is ADDING to the roster not removing PG or other talent. Package what we can spare and get a DDR or if willing to move firsts a Siakam. Whoever it is they need to be able to play 70+ games at a minimum and be the mule.

There were lots of aspects to be disatisfied about this past season. But I’d like to see them try it again with Kawhi (I’m not in the trade Kawhi club).

I also like PG, but he’s not a great fit with Kawhi. Are there any equivalent level players that play a different position (not SF) that would better pair with Kawhi?

SGs (DeRozan, McCollum, Lavine, Beal)
PFs (Siakem, Markkanen, Randle, Aaron Gordon)
PGs (Jrue, Djounte Murray).

Him, Steph and Jokic when each is healthy and on their games is un-guardable. They’re also smart basketball players who rarely waste possessions. Kawhi had a great year and it was fun to have been at a number of his games where he had stellar performances. If he stays healthy you can pencil the Clippers into the 2nd round, and then it’s up to the coaching and supporting cast to step up and optimize their play around him.

People are often dour about the Clippers due to the rudderless season we experienced, but they do have 1 of the best players in the game. If he’s on the court, the Clippers can be a top 4 team.
