That is very true, I was working from the assumption that he would want to stay after being cut. Of course he is well within his rights to stick his middle finger up and go elsewhere!

I did always find it a bit odd at the time that both Preston and Boston were given full contracts rather than 2 ways. Especially when draft picks as long as I have been a Clippers fan have had poor results.

In any given year it’s a gamble/crapshoot, but we’ve had this FO since 2016. 7 years, and how many homegrown NBA-rotation level players have they found? Probably just Mann, SGA, and Coffey? I’m not saying the FO is terrible, but scouting guys and/or the draft is a very glaring weakness.

They haven’t made a good pick outside of Terance since SGA. I guess you can count Boston but he still hasn’t really done much

I like Preston’s size and passing ability. I think he can shoot, too, with enough reps. He has to focus on getting by guys with the dribble. That said, I can’t see him getting a lot of time with Ty Lue as coach, though I think with all the load management and injury time the Clippers log among their core players, he should theoretically be able to get some quality minutes on the floor.

Love Jason’s story but just don’t see him as an NBA rotation player. I thought it was a head scratching pick at the time (most of ours are of late outside of SGA and T-Mann). That whole draft was just bizarre from our POV. Could’ve/should’ve drafted Bones, took the Tennessee player, could’ve should’ve drafted ayo, drafted Preston. Boston was fine value at the spot he was picked but the lackluster drafts are part of why I want Frank gone, too. (The Robinson over MPJ or Lonnie Walker pick alone should get someone fired).

I gotta agree but you gotta admit that even with good scouting it’s always a gamble.

calling it a crapshoot is just an excuse for bad scouting. At least with Ballmer, you know he’ll spend the money where maybe they’re not as limited as other teams, but with the new CBA, I think it’ll be even more important to get production from the draft on any contender.

Hard not to cheer Jason on with his backstory. He’s obviously a talented passer and have heard good things about him from players and coaches – he wants to learn and improve – seems a student of the game.

Sadly I can’t see a place on the team for him.
Like osumu said, can he be waived and signed on a 2-way? Think there is a 3 year NBA experience limit so maybe yes?
