Ayton will be third option forever behind KD and booker
If ayton plans on being third best center in the league it isn’t happening on the suns as third banana unless he starts consistently doing emblid jokic things and even then KD and booker the alphas on that team.

Skeptical on trading with division/conference enemies.

I do think there is something to being happy in your situation, and Ayton clearly wasn’t happy in Phoenix. I do think he needs a change of scenery, but maybe a change and head coach will be enough if he stays in Phoenix.

I wonder what the Clips could offer Phoenix. They do need some depth, so maybe they’d value guys like Batum and Powell. They certainly got a good look at what Powell can do offensively.

I’d try and get Ayton and CP for Zu, Batum, Powell, EJ, and a pick.

Myers should be very familiar with LA considering he lived and worked here a big chunk of his life. Should be an easy adjustment. I’m kind of curious how his relationship with Jerry West is. Jerry seems to have Ballmer’s ear and they are seen together so much. Feels like if Jerry thinks Bob is the guy to hire, Ballmer would have to consider it. From all reports, Bob and Jerry remain close after their time in Golden State, so definitely a lot of connections that would lead Myers to the Clippers if he wanted to move on.

But I think he does have 3 daughters, and I’m sure they live in San Francisco now, so uprooting your family to move back to LA probably would be a huge move for them. I think he’s said he wants to spend more time with his family, so maybe a move to the Clippers isn’t imminent, and even if he leaves the Warriors, maybe he’ll just take some time off. Certainly would be what I would want to do if I were able to just quit my job and spend time with my family, but I’m also not being offered a $10M+ annual salary.

While Zu is kind of the perfect center to build a championship team around (at least how I think you should build a championship team) I’ll admit that his job is also on the line if the Clippers can find a more “star” level talent at his position.

The guy that has been talked about possibly being available is DeAndre Ayton. As much as Ayton has disappointed at times this season, there is no question that Ayton’s upside and basketball talent is just way higher than Zu. I keep thinking Ayton SHOULD develop into the 3rd best center in the league, but he hasn’t shown that yet. I still think the Clippers have bigger holes to fill, but at this point, an upgrade in talent is an upgrade in talent and you kind of have to make the move if a reasonable one is available. I doubt it really happens, but someone like Ayton feels like you are kind of buying low on, even if there were times in the PHX series, I thought Zu might honestly be the better player.
