I have to think they will get better with more time with KD and Book. This playoffs, it really felt like a team that had only played like 8 games together. But unfortunately for them, time is not on their side. KD is going to be 35, CP just turned 38. If anything, both of them are going to be worse next year, you just hope they don’t have a massive drop off.

If I were them, I’d probably be trying to trade CP. Ayton is tough. I think his value is super low right now, especially given his contract. I think you have to hold on to him and hope with a new coach he lives up to some of that upside. I kind of feel like with the change of head coach, Ayton is probably off the market.

I feel like if the Suns could get like Mann and Norm for CP, they’d have to consider it. Not sure if the Clippers would do something like that, but I feel like Vogel will put the ball in the hands of Booker and just need a defensive minded guard along side of him.

I think Kawhi is on the level of any of the superstars leading their teams to the Finals. Unfortunately he just hasn’t been on the court in ANY of the playoff series where the Clippers ultimately lost, besides in the bubble. Sad one injury took away basically 2 seasons for the Clippers (F*#$ Joe Ingles?). I think as long as he wants to still be here, you have to give it another shot with Kawhi.

That being said, I’d probably put him behind the 2 (should be 3) time MVP in Jokic. I’ve never been a Jimmy Butler guy, but it is crazy how he can put the team on his back in the playoffs.

Jokic, in addition to being a monster himself, makes everyone else better. Kawhi is more of a virtuoso solo artist.

1. Trade pg13 to suns for ayton shamet and okogie + 2 first round picks + 2 pick swaps
(Suns think they screwing us in trade by having a cp3 booker pg13 KD lineup)
2. Trade Eric Gordon batum shamet okogie + 2 of the suns first rounders + 1 of suns pick swaps + a future clippers 1st rounder to raptors for siakim .
3. Trade Morris and ROCO plus this years clippers first rounder + our next/last 2027-2028 pick whatever it is to bulls for derozan .
4. Convince Russ to sign for our mmle

Russ demar kawhi siakim ayton
Bones norm Mann _ Zu

Ayton can help guard jokic and top centers in the league
Siakim can help a ton and solve some of our rebounding issues paired with ayton .

Derozan gives us a healthier more confident pg13 replacement (him and kawhi mixing it up in the mid range could put pressure on opposing defenses .

Downside- all in with no picks till 2030 , Russ and derozans outside shooting .

Watching these finals gives me an increased appreciation for Kawhi. I’ll take his skillset over any of the guys on these two final teams.

Miami’s only hope is an impactful return of Tyler Herro. They are going to have to cook their way into competing offensively and with Jimmy, Herro and what appears to be a suddenly-rejuvenated Lowry they could catch some fire. I also think that they should really ride Bam as much as possible who can freelance out there at will.

Won’t be surprised if Miami wins a game or two but short of major injury Denver’s got this.
