He was an assistant under Doc this past year I think, so I think he’d be available to bring in as an assistant under Ty. With Cassell heading to the Celtics, seems like Doc’s days a head coach are done for next season at least.

I feel like the Clips need some shake up on the staff even if Lue is retained. Felt like they lost a lot when they lost Atkinson as an assistant. No idea how to gauge assistant coaches, but Shaw never seemed like an adequate replacement.

But these Heat guys won’t go out without a fight. I feel like after the Lakers series, the Nuggets almost got overhyped. I loved the Nuggets going into the playoffs as the favorite in the West, but I feel like in the past few weeks I’ve heard “are they the next dynasty?” or “how would they do against the KD warriors?”. They were still a 53 win regular season team, with one of the best home court advantages in the NBA. My belief in the Nuggets was FAR more that I didn’t like any other teams in the West. Especially after seeing KD and Booker’s Suns up close, and injuries to PG and Steven Adams. Lakers were a very mediocre team that got the right matchups. Nuggets were by far the favorite in the West but not sure they were better than a healthy Celtics or Bucks going into the playoffs.

I do think there is something to some teams getting hot at the right time and making a deep playoff run, but carrying a hot streak through like 2 months of playoff basketball is tough. I think the Heat are playing a bit over their heads, and SHOULD ultimately come back down to earth, but maybe they can keep their hot streak going for 3 more games.

Nuggets in 6 sounds about right, but I don’t trust them to take care of business on the road, so at this point I would say Nuggets in 7.

Hyland is a dynamic young player. He makes up for the Jerome Robinson error.

What a weird season this was with Lue.

Make a deal with another team and bring in someone new — anyone!

If they don’t redo Ty’s contract this summer, another team is going to offer him more. Clippers and he have to determine whether he’s the long term fit as coach for this franchise. They probably have to figure that out this summer in order to be in a good position for the 23-24 season and our first season at the Intuit Dome in 24-25.

I think their 3-4-5 of MPJ, Gordon, Jokic is going to be a little too tough to handle, and Brown and KCP have been very solid contributors, while Murray has been Playoff Murray. I do think Miami has better personnel to throw at Murray, but that will come at a cost of other players getting favorable match ups and opportunities.

I do think this Miami team is a lot better than the regular season version mainly because of Caleb Martin’s emergence as the team’s 2nd best player, which pushes Bam Adebayo down to #3. Miami doesn’t need Bam to score 24 pts/game to win. That gives Spoelstra a lot of flexibility. Bam never made sense as a 2nd best player on a championship team. He doesn’t have the offensive game or mindset to do it. However, he’s a very credible #3 on a championship team. If he can focus on chasing Jokic around, getting rebounds and around 12-15 points, he can give Miami a fighting chance in these games.

Jimmy is going to have to be an alpha in this series. He can’t pass up shots or take too much time to let others get involved. He needs to go for 30 every game to have a shot. Miami’s guard rotation is deeper than Denver’s and if they get good shooting out of Strus, Lowry, Highsmith and can find a way to make Love playable at the forward spot and get shooting out of him, Miami has a legit shot.

That said, it’s a lot easier to construct scenarios where Denver wins than it is to create one for Miami. Miami has no matchup for Joker, and their front line is too small for Denver’s frontline overall. I think the games will be very competitive and Spoelstra’s coaching and Jimmy’s savvy will get them 2 wins, but it’s harder for me to see them getting to 4 wins.

Denver plays with intention and purpose on offense. They know what they want on most every possession and usually get the shot they want. Most of that is due to Jokic’s ability to read the floor when dribbling the ball up from the backcourt, and his activity in the high post area setting screens, making the dribble hand off pass, rolling to the post/rim, and hitting the corners. At his best he’s a combo of Magic Johnson + a bully ball center with touch and range. Unique player. Tough to stop.

He gets to a lot of loose balls and it felt like the Clippers won the possession battle most every time he was on the floor. While he provides obvious skills as an energy guy, I think his game is a lot more than that. If’s he’s given the opportunity to figure out the balance between attacking, shooting the 3 and driving to set up teammates, he can be a starter and regular contributor in this league. With enough meaningful games under his belt next season, he’s a guy one could easily see as an x-factor on a team that has a deep playoff run.

Bones about the only thing making me happy as a clipper fan right now!
. Sure he makes a few young kid mistakes , but the flash of speed length defense and shooting for the price we got him and his rookie contract makes bones a definite keeper whether we run it back or rebuild.
“Bones made his bones since the trade happened and also in the playoffs ! Love the kid !absolute keeper and absolutely needs to be unleashed with minutes with whatever starters we have next season and the bench. Play em a ton, nuff said!
