Seems like slowly but surely clipperdom is defaulting back to the fools gold of 213 and lying to themselves about how we can tweak around the margins with some hybrid moves.

Derrick White has some good games and that miracle putback and it’s “if we could just find a Derrick White.” This stupidity borders on offensive insofar as it perpetuates the myth that we’re just one gritty overachiever away.

This team is no longer 213 but 113 as Kawhi will only be half the player he once was. We are stuck with him so he needs to be preserved throughout the regular season like the Spurs did with Duncan late in his career.

It’s kind of humorous how Russ is viewed as a train wreck while no one addresses the reality that Kawhi is even further deteriorated. 35 year old Nic is considered an asset but not Russ.

My point is that if we’re going to believe that the other old men on this team can still deliver why would we just kick Russ to the curb?

Personally I think we should blow the whole thing up and cash in whatever we can for younger talent, but if we’re going to persist with 113 then let’s not scramble for some vanilla role players and just dismiss potential greatness from a player like Russ who at least has a proven very high upside.
