There’s no way to know what we’ve missed out on so far. I’m not saying we should have paid more for Jrue and CP than what was ultimately paid for to get those guys. I’m just saying that going forward, this team has a lot of pressure to continue to push all in on this year. I don’t like that aspect of our situation.

What move is/was out there that you think we should’ve done and constitutes going “all-in?!” Our pick cupboard is empty and we have few young assets. I’m sure Presti and Griffin aren’t in a hurry to dump their newly acquired guards especially for our PuPu platter and we still have Mook, Trez and JG to work out, which all impact our financial planning.

And the draft is barely here and FA doesn’t officially start until Friday so at minimum we all need to chill and try and enjoy the ride.

That’s a fair point, but the Clippers have too much riding on this season with both Leonard and PG being up for FA this summer. The clippers can’t afford to shrug their shoulders and point to an unpredictable season as an excuse for not going really deep into the playoffs. If anybody should be swinging big at this point, it’s just the bucks and the clippers. Everybody else has way more time.

And this is coming from the fan who hates that we are all in on this team.

Harden for PG would definitely be an improvement, even if it results in a dropoff of defense. As you described, there’s pretty much no way to get it done while keeping the rest of our team in tact. Other teams can offer way more.

There’s this bigger problem that we have at the moment. Last year was a rebalancing year in the league. The top was spread more evenly across more teams. It made way more sense to be in “win now” mode last year than it does this year, where the top is getting way more dense (especially so if brooklyn get’s harden). If we couldn’t get it done last year (and we couldn’t even get out of the second round last year), I’m not optimistic about our chances this year. I still think we pushed the “win now” button prematurely. I would love to hedge by trading PG for a younger star (simmons) or great players on longer term deals (PG and lou for CJ, Zach Collins and Nurkic).

I think this isn’t talked about it enough. This season is set to be more unpredictable than the bubble. And the scheduling just announced won’t help as travel looks pretty normal. Maybe owners are counting on the vaccine but players and staff are going to be in and out with Covid, games will get cancelled and I expect teams to be super conservative with their stars.

I heard he was forced to be a primary ball handler and take bad shots, due to lack of a secondary playmaker. His FT％ is not great but not an awful FT shooter. James Ennis with playmaking skill?

We could make a move tomorrow
If we trade a player for a pick to re-use in another trade, like the rumored Lou to Dallas for 18th pick etc.
I’m not worried , FA starts on Friday like you guys said so we will know most likely what we’re working with by Sunday Monday of next week!
